2009 ACG Detroit Cup - MBA Business Case Competition

                                                

The Detroit Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), a premier organization of corporate growth driven professionals with more than 290 members, proudly announces its 2nd Annual ACG Detroit Cup, an intercollegiate competition among students at schools in Southeastern Michigan to find the brightest minds for the future of M & A.  Students will gain invaluable feedback from judges, expand networks, and compete for scholarships.  In 2009, a total of $19,000 in scholarship money will be awarded to the 6 winning teams, including $10,000 to the 1st place team, $5,000 to the 2nd place team and $1,000 each for the other finalist teams.

The competition is open to all graduate students who are officially registered at the participating schools during the 2008 - 2009 academic year.  Each team can have 2-4 members.  To be considered for Round One, teams will need to submit their application form to the school liaison by January 6, 2009.  Each school will select  3-4 teams to participate in Round One.

 

  • Round One (January 21st - 31st):  ACG Detroit will distribute a case study to participating teams two weeks prior to their scheduled Round One competition.  The participating teams must submit a complete executive summary, via email, to ACG Detroit at least three days prior to the competition.  During Round One, teams will present their recommendations and respond to judges’ questions for 30 minutes.  After all teams present, the judges will choose a team to advance to the Finals to be held February 21st. 

 

  • Final Round (February 21st):  ACG Detroit will distribute a new case study to 6 finalist teams selected to advance to Round Two.  The teams will submit a complete executive summary, via email, to ACG Detroit by end of business, February 18th.  During the Round Two competition, 6 finalist teams will present their recommendations and respond to judges’ questions for 30 minutes.  After all teams present, the judges will announce the winners.
